Christmas Gift Tag Idea: Cricut Christmas Tree Gift Tag

Hello Everyone,

I decided to do something a little bit different today and create a Christmas gift tag. I can add this to Christmas gifts for family members and make the packages look even better. Adding a little creative flair always makes something look better.

Isn’t this just super cute and FUN! I love the bordering I did with the different Christmas papers. The trees are cut out using the Joys of the Season, Cricut cartridge. I know I’ve been talking about this cartridge all week, but it really is worth the investment if you like to make Christmas decor, scrapbook pages or cards…..makes things a whole lot easier.

I made the lights on the middle tree with a regular hole punch. I just took scraps of different colored papers and used the holes as lights. It’s hard to tell from this picture, but there is also a little gold star at the top of the middle tree as well. I used a teeny tiny star punch for it and I think it fit the tree perfectly.

Although it isn’t one of the most extravagant gift tags I’ve ever seen, it is cute and I think it will look perfect on a child’s Christmas gift. I’m going to try and enter this into a couple of challenges this week, but haven’t looked all of them up yet, but here are a few….

Homemade Greeting Card: Pink and Blue Merry Christmas Card

Hello everyone!

I am so excited about the card I have to show y’all (yes that’s how we say it here in the south).

This card turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined. When I was pulling out scrapbook paper for the color scheme I wanted to use for my homemade Christmas greeting card, Mom was a little nervous, but after it was finished she changed her tune and was so jealous! LOL (Mom I know you’re reading this I had to tell the truth). Now for the moment you all are waiting for, here is a picture of the beautiful handmade christmas card I made.

I am so in LOVE with this little card. The more I play the better I seem to get; especially when I don’t have other things going on for the day and I can just focus on my scrapbook pages or cards. This card layout is a sketch I got from the Clean and Simple Stamping Blog this week and I tweaked it a little to add ornaments instead of stars. There are so many different things you can do with this layout. I’m actually working on two more card that look like this, but in stead of ornaments I’m doing candy and gingerbread men and the other is going to have presents strung across it. This layout is so simple you can make it work for anytime of year.

The scrapbook pages used for this project are just stock pages from Michael’s craft store.I used the cricut cutter to make my ornaments with the Joys of the Season cartridge. If you enjoy making holiday greeting cards, scrapbook pages or any other crafts and don’t have this cartridge for your cricut, get it! There are so many cool little cut outs and they have a whole section dedicated to the 12 Days of Christmas. I embossed the top of the ornaments with silver embossing powder, as well as the Merry Christmas sentiment. The silver behind the ornaments and bordering the sentiment is a mirrored, silver cardstock. To decorate the ornaments with a little bling I used rhinestones and OH MY, they look so elegant and pretty.

I have decided to enter this little card into several challenges this week which include:

Cute Cards Thursday – Anything Goes

Clean and Simple Stamping – Sketch Challenge

Delicious Doodle – Lots of bling and glitz

Stamptacular Sunday – Christmas Glitz

Paper Sundaes – Anything Christmas

Basic Grey Challenge – Anything Goes

Crafty Anne’s Challenge Blog - BINGO

Well that is my project for the day. Be sure to let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Christmas Scrapbook Page Idea: The Joy of Toys

Oh my gosh, I am so excited. For those of you reading my blog if you haven’t looked at my Santa Was Here Christmas Scrapbook Page, check it out. I won the weekly challenge at Crop Stop. I won a $15.00 gift card to the crop stop store, so I guess it really does pay off to enter challenges, no matter what you think of your work because others may enjoy it as much as you do.

Anyways, on to today’s scrapbook page layout. This is a Christmas scrapbook page of my son opening his toys at Christmas.

100_1418

This Christmas, 2009, was a very special Christmas for me and my husband. We had to relocate due to him losing his job right before the holidays and were still struggling to make ends meet. When we realized we weren’t going to have enough money for our kids at Christmas, we decided to hit the local yard sales in the area to find nice toys. The lord really blessed us. We found brand new v-tech toys, transformers and DVDs people were getting rid of because their children didn’t play with them. Our kids had the biggest Christmas yet and we didn’t spend, but maybe $50.00. The funniest part of this Christmas is the fact we didn’t have any boxes to put the toys in, so we went to the local liquor store and got boxes for the gifts. THANK GOD THEY COULDN’T READ! Haha, everyone laughed and cried, but it was such a great Christmas.

I used several different papers in this challenge, but the real treat was the cricut cuts outs I placed on the scrapbook page. I used the Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge and made the holly leaves and the garland wreaths in the top left and bottom right of the page. The garland is just a wreath I cut using the cricut and then I cut it in half.

I am also entering this in several challenges:

Kaboodle Doodle – Christmas Colors

Lexi Creations – Anything for a man/boy

Lollipop Crafts – Color: Red/Cream/Chocolate Brown

Paper Playtime – Cricut Image and Buttons

The Pink Elephant – Snowflakes and Sparkle

I hope you enjoyed the layout and beautiful story as much as I enjoyed making the memories and scrapping them.

Christmas Scrapbook Page Idea: Santa Was Here

Hello Everyone

I know I took a few weeks off, but I’m back now for the rest of the year. I decided to spend a little time with my family over the Thanksgiving break because there were so many lovely family members and friends visiting. It was a great Thanksgiving and I had a lot to be thankful for and I hope yours was as good as mine.

Now, on with the eye-candy for today’s post. This is a Christmas scrapbook page idea that I made from a sketch that was provided on the Sweet Sunday Sketch blog this week. I tweaked the sketch just a tiny bit. When you see my Christmas scrapbook page you will notice a small ornament to the right of the page, in the sketch it was supposed to be a flower of some sort. Oh, well….I guess I just wanted to be different.

I absolutely love this scrapbook page photo of my son Riley with Santa Clause. The reason why he has such as weird look on his face in because Santa caught him by surprise. Every year in December, around the second or third week of the month, the local fire department here in Richmond Hill, Georgia comes brings Santa around on the fire truck to give out candy canes to the kids in all the neighbor hoods in the area. It is so awesome. Riley was almost asleep when Santa came to visit.

I used several different Christmas scrapbook papers by several different companies to get the layered effect on the page. I cut out the circles using a fiskars circle cutter and made them look like ornaments using a cuttle bug die cut. The die cut I used was actually a decorative square punch that I cut down to look like the top of an ornament ball. The scalloped punch running next to the 2009 is a snowflake punch by Martha Stewart and the photograph of my scrapbook page doesn’t do it justice, it is beautiful.

I will also be entering this challenge into several scrapbook page challenges for the week.

I hope all of you reading this get some Christmas scrapbook page ideas to show off your most memorable photographs of the holiday season. Thanks for viewing and get to scrappin’ those scrapbooks and keepsakes.

Homemade Greeting Card: Non-Traditional Christmas Card

WOW! I am so excited about this card. For those of you that have been following my blog, you know that I’m not big on making greeting cards. I decided to give it a shot this week because I needed to play around for a design for my yearly Christmas invitations to the family Christmas party. This card turned out beautifully.

100_1403

Isn’t this card just absolutely gorgeous. I’m pretty partial to this card, I think I may use this because of the lovely shade of pink underneath with the hint of gold – the gold makes everything pop! The bottom of the white is a lace looking Christmas punch made by Martha Stewart. The background is made with the a cuttlebug background as well as the flower and sentiment.

This card came together without any difficulty and I am so excited! I will be entering this blog into the following blog challenges for the week.

CCEE Stampers – Challenge using two die cuts or punches

Charisma Cards – Lace and Pearls

Coulor Create – Challenge with the color white, pink and gold

Crop Stop – A mostly white card or scrapbook layout

Lollipop – Challenge using embossed images and no designer paper

Delightful Sketches – This was a bingo like challenge where you have to choose three things from the bingo board. I chose a dimensional aspect, lace and glitter or sparkle.

Stamps R Us – A card or layout with bling bling

Pink Elephant – Embossed challenge

Shabby Tea Room – Pastel colors

My Time to Craft – 2 of something on a layout or card

ABC Challenge – Dazzle

Southern Girls – Another Bingo Challenge

Truly Scrumptuous – Pearls

Let me know what you think about my card and keep an eye out for more greeting cards this week. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know which one you like best.

Get to scrappin’ those scarpbooks and keepsakes!
